715: Titanic | Anchor

The brewery: " Our Staffordshire brewery was founded in Burslem, Stoke on Trent in 1985 with one goal - to produce great beer!" The beer: "The very first beer brewed at Titanic on October 1st 1985. Originally called Premium, this beer hasn’t changed and is still fabulous. TASTING NOTE: Amber, floral, hoppy and very quaffable. This is a full bodied yet bitter ale." I didn't find this too floral, just very tasty. A lovely traditional bitter. Being a Titanic owned pub a wide range of their beers were on offer. The Cheshire Cheese , Buxton. August 2021. 866: Titanic | Chocolate & Vanilla Stout

The brewery: "Titanic Brewery was founded in Burslem Stoke on Trent in 1985 with one goal, to produce great beer! Burslem was the Mother town of the Potteries and had many great names who had started their careers amongst the bottle kilns and smoke." The beer: "We’ve taken our traditional Stout and enhanced it with the silky smooth flavours of chocolate and mellow vanilla.TASTING NOTE: A true smooth and creamy stout with a sweet difference. The chocolate flavours are balanced by the addition of vanilla extract." After a trying day this went down a treat, very tasty indeed. 4.5% A.B.V. Rake Hall, Cheshire, April 2023. Titanic – Iceberg

What they say: “A combination of Maris Otter pale malt and fine wheat malt, give this refreshing beer real zest. Add refreshing Yakima Galena and Cascade hops and what you get is a fantastic wheat beer that will hole any passing thirst.” It was certainly refreshing although as regulars will know it’s not my favourite ale style. Tasty enough though and the last beer to be sampled on our half-term break in Warwickshire at www.somerswood.co.uk .  4.1% A.B.V The Rose Villa Tavern , Birmingham. October 2016

Titanic - Festive Thirty-Five

What they say: “….It is brewed using all-English ingredients, with pale malt providing a deep golden colour and sweetness, balanced by a generous hop character throughout.”   Brewed to celebrate 35 years of Wetherspoons - and credit where it’s due they always offer a great selection of ales. Too hoppy for my tastes but in good condition. 5% A.B.V

869: Myrddins | Harold Lowe Titanic Bitter

The brewery: "Barmouth's first and only brewery & distillery. Myrddins Brewery & Distillery Ltd was established in 2014." The beer: "In tribute  to Harold  Lowe who lived in Barmouth, the only officer  to go  back to the stricken  ship. A copper coloured bitter, with forest fruit aromas and a bitter finish, with a white fluffy head." Another ale procured by a friend - and what an ale it was! Superb, pleased my awkward taste buds no end. Top stuff. April 2023. Related entries
